Welcome to Foundation Stage 1- Class 8B
Mrs Brown & Mrs Burton
Foundation Stage 1 sets the standards for the learning, development and care for children from their third birthday. Parent/Carers should contact the school office to register for a place. Visits to look around Foundation stage 1 are most welcome. This allows parents and children a chance to meet the staff and other children. Children are invited to start Foundation Stage 1 the day after their third birthday or as soon as a vacancy becomes available. Foundation Stage 1 is part time, running from 8.50 until 11.50 five mornings mornings per week, during term time. Foundation Stage 1 is next to the main school building in a spacious purpose-built unit, surrounded by its own garden and outdoor play area.
Our Topic for the Summer term is: Healthy Living.
As a whole school launch day 'Gold for Gold' we took part in our very own Olympic opening ceremony. As part of the day Class 8B completed a 'Toddle waddle' to raise funds for The Meningitis Trust. Keep checking back for the final figures :)
Last term our whole school topic was: Time Travellers
We learnt about old music with Mrs Brown, we danced to the Waltz.
Mrs Bailey read us an old story on her brand new ipad. Mrs Barker showed us old and new toys and then we all danced to some new songs on the Wii.
We have been reading Traditional Tales:
We helped the 3 Little Pigs to build their houses.
We have been learning Nursery Rhymes too, we love performing them on our new stage.
We have been doing lots of clever counting using Numicon, we love to make patterns with it.
We have been celebrating Chinese New Year, here is just a few of the things that we did.
We made Dragons and looked at Chinese Writing.
We know the 'Naming of the Years' story and that it is the year of the Dragon.
We did a dragon dance along to Chinese music.
We loved tasting noodles, Mrs Brown said we were much better than her at using the chopsticks.
Here is a sneak preview of our 'Dragon Dance'!
We might be small but we are very busy little people in the Foundation Stage.
We have lots of fun as we are learning!
